About Dutailier - Inventors of the Glider Chair

Dutailier invented the glider rocker chair over 30 years ago and are the leading manufacturers of this product.

We are a privately owned Company established in 1988 in St Pie, Quebec, Canada 50km East of Montreal and is the world leader in the manufacturing and marketing of glider chairs.

Dutailier's European division established in 1993 is based in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire from which we supply not only the UK but also the likes of Germany, France, Belgium, Holland and many other EU countries. Dutailier products are sold in two distinct segments: the traditional furniture market and the baby furniture market – under the brand name Babyglide by Dutailier.

We hold a large stock of over 50 different frames which are manufactured from either maple or solid hardwood.

As the inventor of the glider rocker chair and with an extensive range of designs, wood finishes and fabrics, Dutailier offer many more options than any other glider chair manufacturer and have the chair to meet your needs. As Dutailier cushions are produced in our UK factory in Borehamwood we are able to offer the exclusive service of upholstering the cushions in the fabric of your choice making your chair unique, however, we also import some finished products from the Far East like our competitors – but with the added security of the Dutailier name and quality control.

With a Dutailier glider chair, you can choose a chair to simply glide & relax, or select a chair with more functionality – either the multi-position lock, recline back or full swivel options.
